Parkway Basins

The strip of earth between the street curb and the sidewalk is called a parkway. Retrofitting a parkway into a vibrant rainwater infiltration basins takes advantage of water that would otherwise be lost and flow straight into the ocean. Parkway retrofits cut an opening out of street curbs to intercept water from city streets. By catching water from the street in a basin before it gets to the gutters, parkway basins regenerate the groundwater and support plant life - including street trees.
