Permeable Paving

During a storm, most water runoff from a home is generated from the roof and other hard surfaces such as patios and driveways. We call these surfaces impermeable surfaces and they are often concrete or pavement.  Impermeable surfaces don’t allow water to soak into the soil, instead, they allow water to flow into street gutters.  Permeable surfaces allows water to be captured through the soils of a landscape.

In Water LA, impermeable surfaces are taken out, broken up and redesigned into alternative walkways or driveways through the property which support the landscape so it can capture water.
